Veterinarian

Dr. Jana became a member of the Grey Cove team in May 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Allison University, and she completed her Dr. Of Veterinary Medicine at Atlantic Veterinary College in 2024. She is fluently bilingual. Dr. Jana’s special interests include dermatology and radiology. Outside of her veterinary career, she enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors, especially with her family, who are incredibly important to her.

If you could communicate with animals, what is the first thing that you would ask them?

“How do you see the world? Is it full of colors or shades of grey?” Understanding their perspective would be fascinating and could unlock so many mysteries about how they experience life.
What’s your favourite part about working with animals?

I love the challenge that comes with working with animals—it keeps me motivated and engaged. The most rewarding part is seeing their energy and vitality return after receiving the proper care they need. Watching them thrive again is truly heartwarming.
What’s your pets name and why did you choose it?

I don’t have a pet at the moment, but if I had a pet, I would name him Benny.
What advice would you give pet owners to ensure their pets lead healthy lives?

Focus on both physical and mental stimulation for your pets. Engage them with puzzle toys or let them explore new scents and environments during daily walks. And remember, maintaining a healthy weight is crucial—keep your dog slim, as obesity is one of the leading health concerns in pets. A balanced approach to their well-being ensures a happier, healthier life!
How do you collaborate with pet owners to provide the best care possible for their animals?

I prioritize understanding the pet owner’s expectations and concerns before the appointment even begins. This helps me clearly explain my plan and any diagnoses, ensuring open communication and alignment. Together, we can provide the best possible care for their beloved pet.
